Within the scope of its development plan, the NIM has defined a strategic line of action primarily focused on the creation of an adequate research and development environment and the consolidation of research through specific programs and build on partnerships, on both national and international levels.

Therefore, currently the NIM is actively involved in the following projects:

• The Numerical Weather Prediction Project: ALADIN-Tunisia model.
• Monthly and Seasonal Precipitation Forecasts in Tunisia.
• The EMAGPOT Project (Intermediate-Scale Study of Aerosols, Gas, and Precipitation in Tunisia).
• The Tunis big city Micro-zoning Project.
