Climatological Report for summer 2022 in Tunisia

The summer of 2022 was marked by a remarkable and exceptional rise in temperature in most regions of Tunisia, particularly during the month of June, which ranked first among the hottest months of June. New maximum temperature records were recorded this summer in several regions, making this summer the second hottest summer in Tunisia since 1950. The general average temperature (27 main stations) was 27.8°C, exceeding the average baseline  (1991-2020) by a difference of +2.0°C.

However, the summer of 2021 remains the hottest ever recorded in Tunisia with a difference of +2.2°C. With regard to precipitation, the seasonal rainfall total (27 main stations) amounts to 167.4 mm, it was lower than the reference seasonal total (1991-2020) for the same stations (681.4 mm) with a deficit of 75%, making this year's summer the second driest after that of 1993.
