Activity report 2019

In the framework of performing its basic tasks of monitoring climate phenomena, preparing weather forecasts, monitoring seismic activity and astronomical phenomena, the National Institute of Meteorology (NIM) worked in 2019 on developping the technical capabilities by relying on modern technologies to provide accurate information for the benefit of the various vital sectors concerned and improve the quality of its products and Its services, as its contribution to the protection of people and property, especially by monitoring exceptional weather phenomena and early warning by broadcating weather forecasts and warning notices. As the NIM was able, within the framework of implementing its strategic plan, to acquire and operate a supercomputer and to focus number of models that would develop products and provide the best short and medium term forecasts.
