Climatological September  2023 in Tunisia

After the hot and dry month of August, most regions of the country witnessed a relative rise in temperature during the month of September 2023.  The general average temperature (27 main stations) reached 27.1 °C and exceeded the reference average (1991–2020) by +1.2 °C, making this month the fifth hottest September since 1950.

As for rainfall, the total (27 main stations) for the current month of September reached 35.5 mm, which represents only 3.5% of the reference average for the month (1006.1 mm). The decrease reached 96.5%, and thus September of this year is classified as the driest since 1970 and second only to rain in September 1964 (15.3 mm) since 1950.
