The Conjunction:

The geocentric conjunction between the Moon and the Sun will occur on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 2:55 AM local time.

Tunisia:

In Tunisia, the Moon will remain above the horizon for about 20 minutes after sunset. The maximum altitude (HA) and geocentric elongation (ARCL) will be observed at Borj El Khadra, with a HA of 3.87° and a GE of 7.36°.

Islamic Countries:

In Arab and Islamic countries, the Moon will remain above the horizon after sunset on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. In Dakar, for example, the Moon will be visible for approximately 25 minutes, with a height of about 5.51 degrees above the horizon and a geocentric elongation (ARCL) of approximately 8.07 degrees.

Possibility of Crescent Observation:

The observation of the lunar crescent for Rabi' al-Awwal 1446 AH will be possible for the first time worldwide after sunset on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, starting from 8:10 PM local time, beginning in Mauritania, Senegal, and the central southern Atlantic Ocean, as shown on the map below (Fig. 3).
