Climatological Report for the month of August 2023 in Tunisia

After the hottest July ever recorded on earth, the month of August was normal. Unlike previous years, the national mean temperature in August reached 29°C, in line with the reference average. August 2021 was the hottest with an anomaly of +2.5°C and August 2022 was ranked the 5th hottest with an anomaly of +1.2°C. Concerning rainfall, the total balance for the month was 181.8 mm, while the normal for the same stations was 320.9 mm. The quantities of rain recorded during this month reached 56.7 % of the normal for the month of August (1991-2020).
